Whether you are looking for a basic checking account, an interest-bearing checking account or something in between, Northrim has a checking solution for you. We are excited to introduce our new Flex Checking account, beginning Monday, May 8.
The higher your balance, the more benefits you receive! With Flex Checking you can automatically:
This checking account includes four different product types, now called tiers, all within one account. Every month we will review your banking relationship and automatically determine your tier level: Simple, Direct, Power or President’s Club. If you qualify for a higher tier, you will be automatically moved to that tier level. If you qualify for a lower tier, you will have a grace period before you move to the lower tier, allowing you additional time to take advantage of the current tier benefits.
You do not have to worry if your account is a SimpleCheck, DirectCheck, PowerCheck, or President’s Club – you will automatically be moved into Flex Checking and placed in the tier most similar to your current product type today.

Since this is all new, your account will remain in the tier it was moved to during the upgrade until we review accounts on Monday, August 28, 2017. Through this period, you will receive all of the benefits of the tier you are in.
After the first account review on Monday, August 28, we will continue to review your account and relationship activity on a monthly basis to determine your tier level. Each monthly review period begins on the third business day before the end of the month.
If during the relationship review your account qualifies for a higher tier, your account is automatically moved to that tier level. If you qualify for a lower tier, you will have a grace period of 30 days before you move to the lower tier. This allows you additional time to change your balances and take advantage of the current tier benefits.
If your account still does not meet the tier qualifications during the next review period, your account will automatically move to the lower tier.
Beginning Thursday, May 11, you will be able to view your tier level at any time through Northrim Online Banking or by contacting us. You will also receive a Flex Checking statement with your regular monthly account statement, either online or in the mail.
With Flex Checking you still have the option to remain in a particular tier if you prefer. Please contact us if you would like to keep your account in the tier most similar to your account today or if you would like to request a different tier. You will receive all of the benefits of the requested tier and, depending on your account relationship, any applicable monthly account maintenance or other fees will apply.

Monthly Account Maintenance Fees
Monthly account maintenance fees will apply for each month beginning June 1 through August 31. After this date, the account reviews occur monthly and, with the 30-day grace periods, you should no longer be assessed a monthly account maintenance fee.
If you elect to remain in a specific tier, your account will not be reviewed monthly and if the qualifications for the tier are not met, the maintenance fees will apply.
The following fees will be changed or added as of Monday, May 8, 2017.
